I used it about 3 time.then the 4th time, I turned it on and nothing happened. I purchased this because I was tire of ironing and was very excited when it arrived. The lights light up.there was a full reservoir.and no steam. It seemed to work great.heated the water quickly, steamed the clothing fairly well etc. The hose seemed a bit stiff and very very hot but I thought there was just a learning curve to using it efficiently. So, a little pricey to de-wrinkle 10 shirts. I think I'll look into another brand with better reviews.
Ordered this item. Used it about three times over six months and it stopped working.
So i pressed the reset button and i think the spring in the button was broken. I had this for about a year. So i pressed harder, then i heard an electrical surge noise, then the damned thing started smoking like it was gonna catch fire. it worked ok,the steam could have been stronger. The overheat light kept coming on like after 5 mins of using it, then everytime i would turn it on that dumb orange overheat light would be on. My house smelled like burned plastic. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY THIS THING OR ANY THING OF THIS BRAND.
I read all the reviews and decided to purchase anyway - they were all true - all the good and bad reviews were on the money - but I needed a steamer for quick jobs. It does topple over because of the small base, the head of the steamer hit me in the face a couple of times because the hose is stiff and not pliable and it takes a long time to get the wrinkles out and leaves the garment kind of wet - perhaps because one is obviously using steam but then the temporary wet-smooth soon becomes dry-wrinkle - it would be kind of funny if it did not cost $50 - I tried it once and have not used it since - if I had not gotten rid of the box I would return it - I HIGHLY and STRONGLY recommend that if you really want to jump on the steam bandwagon, that you buy a top of the line model with more pressure and better engineering instead.
Our new unit is being watered by distilled variant only this time (to avoid the calcium buildup). This is my wife's second unit. I'm sure there are much better units out there but at this price there isn't much competition. Her first one lasted about 5 years. After I took the unit apart to see what was wrong I determined it was the hard water we used for years. An insider tip: remove the brush tip from the steamer head. the unit works much faster without it.
